Calling All Students in Pursuit of Higher Education! 

The Nancy Sullivan Graf Scholarship provides five (5) $2,500 scholarships to members in our community in pursuit of higher education. Nancy was an employee of BMI Federal Credit Union for over 20 years, retiring in 2023 as the Financial Education Manager. Nancy, who began her career in social work, was instrumental in the creation and development of the award-winning Financial Education Program that we present today. Nancy believed in the importance of educating all people, no matter their financial situation, life stage, or acuity, to improve their financial lives. The scholarship is named in her honor to recognize the impact she had on so many individuals.

The application process for the 2024 Nancy Sullivan Graf Scholarship is closed. Winners will be announced once the committee has evaluated the submissions. If you have any questions please contact Sarah Bach at s_bach@bmifcu.org or April Keiffer at a_keiffer@bmifcu.org. 

Qualifying students must be: 

  • A BMI FCU member in good standing at the time of submission. The account must be in your name, not your parent/guardian.
  • A high school senior graduating in the 2023-2024 school year, a student currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college or university full or part-time, or a student attending a vocational school.
  • Willing and able to submit the required information in the form below.

Submit your application using the application form below. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Ensure you have enough time to submit the application in its entirety, as this page does not save incomplete applications (you will not be able to return to it at a later time).

I understand that if I am selected as a winner of The Nancy Sullivan Graf Scholarship and in consideration thereof, I understand, agree, and hereby grant permission to BMI FCU to use my likeness and name in announcing and promoting this scholarship. I understand that the Scholarship Committee is solely responsible for the selection of the scholarship winners, and its decision is final. In submitting this application, I am permitting the Committee to confirm my BMI FCU membership status, in addition to my school enrollment status and academic standing with both my current school and desired university. If I am selected as a winner, I understand my scholarship award will be administered to me through my intended university. In submitting this application, I certify that the information is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand and agree that falsification of or failure to provide required information will result in termination of the scholarship. 

Selection Criteria

The Selection Committee will base the selection of the scholarship recipients on the following:

Completion of Banzai Career Field Quiz: 10%
• Please use the same email address for this application as the Banzai login

Completion of the Career Exploration Questionnaire: 90%
• Quality of responses
• Grammar, punctuation, spelling & neatness
• Compliance with required format

All applications must be submitted to BMI Federal Credit Union (BMI FCU®) by April 30, 2024. You must be a BMI FCU member in good standing as of the date that you submit the application, a student currently enrolled in college, vocational school, or a graduating high school senior in the 2023-2024 school year. Applications will not be returned and will become the property of BMI FCU. BMI FCU employees, senior officers, volunteers and their families are not eligible. The winning entries will be chosen at the discretion of the BMI FCU Nancy Sullivan Graf Scholarship Committee. Illegible entries may be disqualified. Winners will be notified on or before May 31, 2024, by mail or phone and agree to have their names and photos published in BMI FCU promotional materials. After confirmation of registration and acceptance at a vocational school, two-year community college or a four-year college or university, award checks will be issued directly to the applicant’s school. Five (5) $2,500 Scholarships will be awarded. Not valid where prohibited by law.

BMI FCU respects the privacy of all Nancy Sullivan Graf Scholarship applicants. Applications and supporting documentation will be maintained in a secure manner and only shared internally with the Scholarship Committee and scholarship application judges. Applications and supporting documentation will be retained confidentially by BMI FCU in accordance with applicable record retention guidelines. Membership eligibility requirements apply.
